Each of our technicians is equipped with several machines designed to work on specific drains. In many cases, we use commercial grade electric snake machines to clear a drain blockage. These machines use a metal cable to enter the line and break through the clog, scraping the pipe clean. The motors spins the cable as it pushes forward allowing it to build torque which helps break through tough clogs.
For larger drains, we use high pressure water jets that break up and remove clogs by spraying water at 4,000 psi. Water jet machines have a hose that our technicians place down your drain. The hose has a special attachment at the end that sprays a stream (or cone) of water that blasts debris out of the pipe.
We sometimes use video inspection equipment to see the inside of your pipes. A monitor displays the video and records it to a DVD. If there’s a clog, the camera head will make a sound that allows us to locate the location and depth inside the pipe.
All of our technicians are fully trained by one of our managers or an experienced technician for 3-6 months before they perform their own service calls. During this time, they are exposed to a variety of drain problems in both residential and commercial settings. Technicians perform 400-500 jobs while in training. The manager continues to support them in a mentor role after their training is complete.
Definitely. Many homes today have finished basements and a clogged sewer line can cause thousands of dollars in damage. A preventive maintenance plan allows you to break up a clog before it causes a backup in your home. Backups cost you more than the price to clear the drain – they damage carpet, rugs, furniture and more.
Restaurants, apartments and other businesses require preventive maintenance to prevent service disruptions. A flooded kitchen on a Friday night can be extremely costly to a restaurant, and tenants are less likely to renew their lease or refer others if they experience a backup.
Every home and business has unique drain needs. Call us today to schedule a time to meet and create a custom maintenance plan for your property.
Drains get clogged for a variety of reasons—it’s usually because something’s gone down a drain that shouldn’t have. Practicing good “drain hygiene” will save you time and money over the long term. Be aware, however, that some issues, such as tree roots in your main sewer line, may be not preventable without regular monitoring and maintenance.
